SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 99

A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Yvonne M. Walker.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Senate have learned of the passing of Yvonne M. Walker on May 4, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne, a graduate of Capitol High School in Baton Rouge who
attended Louisiana State University, worked at BellSouth until her retirement; and 
WHEREAS, in addition to being vivacious and a free spirit, she loved home
decorating, shopping, and traveling; and her infectious smile, sense of humor, and giving
heart touched everyone she met; and
WHEREAS, Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Benit Sr. and Mary A.
Walker; two brothers Benit Walker Jr. and Gary Walker; grandparents Alex and Clara Allen;
godmother Gloria Allen; uncles, aunts, and cousins; and 
WHEREAS, leaving to cherish her memories her daughter, LeTonya Marie Elmore;
son, Kristopher Leeroy Green; brother, Alex Walker (Dorothy); sister, Celestine Walker
Ervin; godson, Bennie Walker III; aunt, Betty Scott; uncle, Roosevelt Walker; and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends; and 
WHEREAS, Yvonne M. Walker was a loving mother, sister, and friend who will live
on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express the sincere condolences upon the death of Yvonne M. Walker.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Yvonne M. Walker's children, LeTonya Marie Elmore and Kristopher Leeroy Green.
