HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 6
BY REPRESENTATIVE JAMES
A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Larry
Fontenot.
WHEREAS, it is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the members of the House
of Representatives received word of the transition on February 10, 2018, of Larry Fontenot
to his eternal home, at the age of seventy-nine; and
WHEREAS, born on May 7, 1938, Mr. Fontenot was a resident of Ville Platte who
was known as a hard working and humble man; and
WHEREAS, Larry Fontenot devoted his life to his family and to his church, where
he served as a deacon and, like his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, made a living using his
hands; and
WHEREAS, left to cherish his memory are his wife, Katherine Fontenot; his
children, Cassandra and Anthony Fontenot, Cassie Williams, Rachael, Anthony, and Kossit
Gallow, and Franscho and Terrance Searile; his sister, Margret Morris; his brother, Arthur
Fontenot, Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend deepest sympathies to the family of Larry
Fontenot and does hereby offer sincerest hopes and prayers for comfort and peace to those
who mourn.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Larry Fontenot.
