SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 12

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana to the family and friends
of Byron Terrell Dore upon his passing and to express support for the dedication of
a flagpole installed in his honor at the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Law
Enforcement Training and Emergency Response Complex.
WHEREAS, it is with heavy hearts that the Legislature of Louisiana has learned of
the passing of Byron Terrell Dore who passed suddenly from this life on February 9, 2008;
and
WHEREAS, Byron was born May 2, 1983, to Randal and Eleanor Terrell Dore of
New Iberia; and
WHEREAS, he was a 2001 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School and later
married Jenee Delahoussaye Dore; and
WHEREAS, following in the footsteps of his father-in-law, retired Sergeant
Keith Delahoussaye, Byron made the decision to commit his life to public service by
becoming a Louisiana wildlife and fisheries enforcement agent; and
WHEREAS, in 2008, Byron became a cadet in the twenty-third academy class of the
Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, enforcement division; and
WHEREAS, Byron shall be remembered for his lifelong love of hunting, fishing,
being outdoors, and his desire to become a wildlife and fisheries enforcement agent; and
WHEREAS, Byron is survived by his widow, Jenee Delahoussaye Jordan; his
mother, Eleanor Terrell Dore; his love and his heart, daughter, Kali Larson; sisters,
Stephanie Leleux and Valerie Hebert and their spouses; and numerous nieces and nephews;
and 
WHEREAS, the memory of Byron Terrell Dore shall abide with his family, friends,
and colleagues at the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and he shall remain "forever
young" in their hearts; and

WHEREAS, following the passing of Mr. Dore, the Louisiana Wildlife Agents
Association, Inc., the Dore family, and the McIlhenny Company decided to honor his
dedication to public service, his love of fishing, hunting, and the outdoors, and his memory
as a wildlife and fisheries enforcement agent cadet by installing a flagpole at the new
enforcement training academy in his honor; and
WHEREAS, Byron's spirit lives on with the members of his academy class who
adopted the motto, "Twelve Men, Thirteen Strong".
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
express sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Byron Terrell Dore and
support for the dedication of a flagpole installed in his honor at the Department of Wildlife
and Fisheries Law Enforcement Training and Emergency Response Complex. 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Byron Terrell Dore.
