SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 13
BY SENATOR CORTEZ 
A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Rosabell Perron Boudreaux on the occasion of her 100th
birthday.
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the citizens and the Senate of the Legislature
of Louisiana have learned that on Friday, June 1, 2018, Rosabell Perron Boudreaux will turn
one hundred years old; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Milton Civic Center surrounded by her
family and friends, she will celebrate the occasion of her 100th birthday; and
WHEREAS, she was born in Youngsville, Louisiana, on June 1, 1918, the fifth of
six children born to Corinne Johnson Perron and Louis Perron; and
WHEREAS, Rosabell Perron was baptized, christened, and married at St. Anne's
Catholic Church in Youngsville, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Rosabell Perron and Sanders Boudreaux went to school in a nearby
community; married in June, 1937, and had eight loving children, Myrtis Therisa, Darrel
Sanders, Rita Louise, Barbara Rose, Riley Joseph, Virginia Mary, Corine Ann, and Carolyn
Ann, and have been blessed with twenty-five cherished grandchildren and numerous devoted
great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and
WHEREAS, Sanders, the love of her life for sixty-two years, farmed and she cared
for the home and children; they moved to the Milton area over seventy-five years ago and
had a very happy and loving marriage until his death on September 20, 1999; and
WHEREAS, she attributes her long and happy life to caring for her family; she was
famous with her family for making homemade donuts; she loved quilting and gardening; she
loves flowers and took great pride in growing them, especially her beautiful azaleas; and
WHEREAS, her one hundred years have been spent surrounded by loving friends and
family who know her so well, and Rosabell Perron Boudreaux has brought and continues to
bring a zest for life and joy into the lives of all who are blessed to know this remarkable
woman.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Rosabell Perron Boudreaux on a life well lived and
on celebrating her 100th birthday, and does wish her many more years of happiness and
health.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Rosabell Perron Boudreaux.
