2018 Second Extraordinary Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 22 BY SENATOR LUNEAU A RESOLUTION To commend Myrna Loy Burnaman Luneau on the occasion of her eightieth birthday. WHEREAS, Myrna was born on Tuesday, July 5, 1938, to the late Jeffery C. Burnaman and the late Laura Belle Rush, one of four children, including sister Maxie Faye McNeal and brothers Tommy Joe Burnaman and Joseph Michael "Shorty" Burnaman; and WHEREAS, she graduated in 1957 from Buckeye High School in Deville, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Myrna was married to the late Merritt L. "M.L." Luneau Jr., a marriage which existed for forty-five years and to this union two sons were born, Terry Ray Luneau and Senator Wendell Jay Luneau; and WHEREAS, she worked with General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) as a credit representative for twenty years in Alexandria, Louisiana, at Huey P. Long Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana, for five years, beginning as an account clerk I and ending as an account clerk III; and at Central State Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana, as an account clerk III and she retired as an account manager I after twenty-five years of service with the state; and WHEREAS, today her family includes Terry Ray Luneau and his wife who have two boys, Nicolas and his wife Jayme; and Zachary and his fiancé Annalise; Senator Wendell Jay Luneau and his wife Carmen who have two children, Merritt and Wendell Jay Jr., many more children who have been "adopted" along the way; and one great grandchild, Gavin Ray Luneau, who was born on June 29, 2017; and WHEREAS, Myrna has been blessed beyond measure and cherishes spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild; and WHEREAS, Myrna Luneau is a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and merits a special measure of commendation and recognition for the tremendous pride and honor that she brings to all who know and love her. Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 22 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Myrna Loy Burnaman Luneau upon the celebration of her eightieth birthday; does hereby recognize and record for posterity the extraordinary life she has lived in the eight decades since her birth; and does hereby extend to her every good wish for health and happiness in the years to come.
