HOUSE BILL NO. 114
BY REPRESENTATIVE PUGH
WILDLIFE & FISHERIES:  Prohibits the capture or transport of the common musk turtle
for commercial purposes
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 56:635(C), relative to the taking of reptiles and amphibians; to prohibit the
3 taking or transportation of common musk turtles for commercial purposes; and to
4 provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 56:635(C) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
7 ยง635.  Diamondback terrapins; common musk turtles; trapping; turtle eggs
8	*          *          *
9	C.  No person shall take or transport common musk turtles (Sternotherus
10 odoratus) for commercial purposes.
