Prior law provided that existing law (R.S. 38:2212(C)(3)(a)), which grants a public entity the
ability to restore or rehabilitate a levee that is not maintained with federal funds, is effective
until Dec. 31, 2018.
New law extends the termination date in existing law by four years, from Dec. 31, 2018 to
Dec. 31, 2022.
Effective August 1, 2018.
