HOUSE BILL NO. 290

1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.73(C)(2), (D), and (G), relative to motor vehicle special
3 prestige license plates; to provide for the "Glen Oaks High School" special prestige
4 license plate; to provide for the creation, issuance, design, fees, distribution, and rule
5 promulgation applicable to such license plates; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.73(C)(2), (D), and (G) are hereby amended and reenacted to
8 read as follows:

14 (2) A royalty fee of twenty-five dollars for the use of the institution's design
15 by the department shall be paid to the institution for each license plate issued as
16 provided in this Section. At the option of any Louisiana parochial, public, or private
17 high school, this royalty fee shall be collected annually by the department.
18 D. The department shall collect the royalty fee collected by the department
19 for each public high school prestige license plate shall be paid to the respective
20 school board of the school for which the plate was issued and the school board shall
21 forward such fee to the institution for each public high school prestige license plate
22 and shall forward such fee to the respective school board of the school for which the

1 plate was issued. Royalty fees collected for parochial or private high school prestige
2 license plates shall be forwarded directly to such parochial or private high school.
3 The fees shall be used solely for school and instructional activities.

5 G. The secretary shall establish special prestige license plates for Archbishop
6 Hannan High School, Jesuit High School, Mount Carmel Academy, the Academy of
7 the Sacred Heart, Saint Katharine Drexel Preparatory School, Acadiana High School,
8 Glen Oaks High School, and any other parochial, public, or private Louisiana high
9 school in accordance with the provisions of this Section as it was enacted.
