HOUSE BILL NO. 832

1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:387.1(B)(1) and (2)(b), relative to escort vehicles; to modify
3 requirements for the registration of escort vehicles to require proof of general
4 liability insurance, motor vehicle liability insurance, and workers' compensation
5 coverage; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 32:387.1(B)(1) and (2)(b) are hereby amended and reenacted to read
8 as follows:
9 ยง387.1.  Escort vehicles; permit to operate required

11	B.(1)  Each company which operates an escort service in this state and which
12 is domiciled in another state shall register annually with the secretary in accordance
13 with rules and regulations adopted by the secretary.  The oversight review of the
14 rules and regulations adopted under pursuant to this Section shall be conducted by
15 the House and Senate Committees on Transportation, Highways and Public Works. 
16 The secretary shall establish a permit fee sufficient to cover the costs of the service. 
17 The fee shall not be less than ten dollars.
18	(2)  Each application for registration shall be accompanied by each of the
19 following:

21	(b)  Proof that each vehicle operated in this state by the applicant is insured
22 in the same amount as is required for escort companies which are domiciled in this

1 state of coverage for general liability insurance, motor vehicle liability insurance,
2 and workers' compensation, each providing for a minimum of five hundred thousand
3 dollars in coverage.
