1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 29:27.1(A), relative to parking for disabled veterans; to provide
3 free parking for certain service-connected disabled veterans at air carrier airports; to
4 clarify identification requirements for honoring free airport parking; and to provide
5 for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 29:27.1(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
8 ยง27.1. Airport parking exemption for certain disabled veterans
9 A. All air carrier airports shall provide free airport parking for a disabled
10 veteran, his conveyance, and his passengers if the disabled veteran provides proof
11 of his service-connected disability of fifty percent or more in the form of a military
12 honor license plate as provided for in R.S. 47:490.4 and 490.31 or a disabled veteran
13 identification card issued completed certificate from the Louisiana Department of
14 Veterans Affairs certifying that the disabled veteran has a service-connected
15 disability of fifty percent or more, as determined by the United States Department
16 of Veterans Affairs.
