HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 94
BY REPRESENTATIVES MACK, HODGES, POPE, AND SCHEXNAYDER AND
SENATOR ERDEY
A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the Holden High School girls' softball team upon winning the 2018 Louisiana
High School Athletic Association Class B  state championship.
WHEREAS, the Holden High School girls' softball team completed a sensational
2018 season, earning the title of Class B state champions; and
WHEREAS, Holden High School's victory over Forest at Frasch Park on Saturday,
April 28, 2018, marked the Lady Rockets' second straight championship win; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Rockets completed their season with an impressive overall
record of 32-3; and
WHEREAS, the top-seeded Lady Rockets started the championship game with
Ashley Fogg ripping the first pitch in the bottom of the first inning for a solo home run to
centerfield and went on to score every inning; from the circle, Olivia Lackie hurled a one-
hitter with eleven strikeouts; and
WHEREAS, the distinguished performance of the entire Holden Rockets softball
team throughout the regular season and the postseason has earned them the Class B title; and
WHEREAS, each of the following Lady Rockets performed at the highest level of
excellence throughout the season and playoffs and deserves recognition for her vital
contributions to the winning effort: Taylor Barfield, Olivia Barnes, Emmaleigh Bertrand, 
Kacey Breithaupt, Gracie Duffy, Ashley Fogg, Aubrey Haltom, Hannah Harris, Emma
Hutchinson, Kamrynn Ouber, Hanah Sance, and Emma Wilson as well as Olivia Lackie who
was named the most valuable player in the title game for the second straight season; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Rockets' accomplishments during this unforgettable season
would not have been possible without the guidance and skills of head coach Linzey Cifreo,

assistant coach Craig Forbes, team managers Shelby Forbes and Madison McDonald, and
all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's softball
program; and
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the Lady
Rockets, and all Holden High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and
distinguished honor that the team brings to its school and community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Holden High School girls' softball team upon winning the 2018 Louisiana
High School Athletic Association Class B state championship and does hereby extend best
wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine softball program as they
celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Coach Linzey Cifreo.
