Bowman of Shreveport for his outstanding accomplishments 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend posthumously John W. Bowman of Shreveport. 3 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the 4Louisiana House of Representatives learned of the death of John W. Bowman, a resident of 5Shreveport, at the age of seventy-six; and 6 WHEREAS, John was born on November 12, 1941, in Bluefield, West Virginia, to 7James and Louise Bowman; and 8 WHEREAS, after graduating from Bluefield High School in 1959, he proudly served 9his country in the United States Air Force; and 10 WHEREAS, Mr. Bowman received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Northeast 11Louisiana State College (now known as the University of Louisiana at Monroe), where he 12served as vice president of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a national coed professional fraternity for 13students in the fields of sales, marketing, and management; and 14 WHEREAS, upon graduation, he served as manager for South Central Bell 15Telephone Company; he later had several sales jobs before founding an insurance agency, 16The Human Resource Dept., Inc., where he worked for forty-five years; and 17 WHEREAS, John founded the business in 1974; The Human Resource Dept., Inc., 18is now managed by John's son, Greg, and a team that is proud to carry on John's legacy of 19exceptional service through meaningful relationships; and 20 WHEREAS, he was a prominent figure in the Shreveport business community; Mr. 21Bowman was a charter member of the Southern Hills Business Association; and Page 1 of 2 HLS 18RS-3524 ORIGINAL HR NO. 225 1 WHEREAS, Mr. Bowman was always active in Summer Grove Baptist Church in 2Shreveport; he served on various committees and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher; 3and 4 WHEREAS, Mr. Bowman is survived by his loving wife, Linda; son, Greg, and his 5wife, Pam; daughter, Sharon, and her husband, Darren; grandchildren, Caroline, Cooper, 6Catie Claire, and Harrison; brother, Kenneth, and his wife, Ginger; and sister, Connie, and 7her husband, Ray; and 8 WHEREAS, John W. Bowman merits a special measure of posthumous 9commendation for the indelible mark he left on the community of Shreveport, whose citizens 10will long reap the benefits of his enduring legacy. 11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 12Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend posthumously John W. Bowman; does 13hereby recognize that he will forever be remembered, respected, and admired by the many 14citizens whose lives he touched; and does hereby extend sincere appreciation for the deep 15pride and honor that this truly remarkable gentleman brought to his family and friends, his 16community, and the state of Louisiana. 17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted 18to the family of John W.
