ENROLLED 2018 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 7 BY REPRESENTATIVE HODGES A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate the Central High School varsity cheerleaders on landing a national championship at the National High School Cheerleading Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. WHEREAS, the Central High School varsity cheerleaders are national champions as the squad placed first in the Large Varsity Non-Tumble Game Day Division, flying to the top after the final round and two flawless routines; and WHEREAS, the team earned two bids to compete in the national competition because of its performance at the Universal Cheerleaders Association Regional, held in November 2017, where team members displayed their enthusiasm, strength, and impressive performance skills; and WHEREAS, the highly competitive Game Day Championship division consists of a band dance, a cheer with stunts, a fight song, and a sideline response to offense or defense prompts; and WHEREAS, the varsity cheerleading squad is coached by Amy Stevens and is comprised of seniors, juniors, and sophomores who gleefully execute athletic stunts, dance routines, and cheers; and WHEREAS, each team member is duly recognized for her enthusiastic contribution to the national championship: Bailee Bagley, Lexie Bailey, Kinley Borskey, Heather Bourque, Olivia Browning, Bailey Creppel, Payton Dowden, Chloe Graham, Julia Gullet, Katie Kennedy, Morgan Kennedy, Grace Knapps, Kennedy Leger, Bailey Mitchell, Addison Porche, Camille Provost, Hannah Rains, Kalynn Taylor, Hannah Wall, and Amber Wethey. Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 7 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Central High School varsity cheerleading squad upon their triumphant accomplishment of placing first in the Large Varsity Non- Tumble Game Day Division at the National High School Cheerleading Championship and does hereby extend its congratulations to team members, coaches, sponsors, and everyone involved in this wonderful cheerleading program as they celebrate their achievement.
