Present law defines "marine product" as a new or used watercraft, boat, marine motor, and a boat or watercraft trailer. Present law excludes from the definition a new or used watercraft or boat adapted to be powered only by the occupant's energy. Proposed law excludes from the definition a watercraft designed for use primarily for commercial or governmental purposes. Proposed law provides that a watercraft designed for use primarily for commercial or governmental purposes shall not be subject to the regulations of the Motor Vehicle Commission. Effective August 1, 2018.
