2018 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 539 BY SENATORS LAMBERT AND ERDEY 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 38:3304(A) and to enact R.S. 38:3304(C), relative to the Amite 3 River Basin Drainage and Water Conservation District; to provide for meetings of 4 the board; to require compliance with the Open Meetings Law; to provide for the 5 location of the meetings; and to provide for related matters. 6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 38:3304(A) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S. 38:3304(C) 8 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 9 ยง3304. Meetings of board; quorum; officers; removal of commissioners; salaries and 10 expenses; requirements; frequency and location 11 A. A majority of the commissioners shall constitute a quorum to do business. 12 They shall organize and elect a president and a vice president from their members 13 and such other officers as the board deems necessary. They shall appoint a secretary 14 and an attorney. They shall designate the time and select the place for holding their 15 regular sessions which may be convened at any time upon call of the president or 16 upon call of two of the commissioners. The salary of the secretary shall be fixed by 17 the board. 18 * * * 19 C.(1) The board shall adhere to the Open Meetings Law, R.S. 42:11 et 20 seq. SB NO. 539 ENROLLED 1 quarterly. All meetings of the board shall be held at a meeting space located in 2 a public building and open to the public for the purposes of the meetings. The 3 location of the meetings shall be rotated among public buildings in Ascension, 4 East Baton Rouge, and Livingston parishes.
