SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 22
BY SENATOR GATTI AND REPRESENTATIVES CREWS AND HORTON 
A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the Kingston Elementary School archery team on winning the elementary
school world archery championship.
WHEREAS, teams competed among thousands of archers from across the United
States at the 2017 National Archery in the Schools Program World Tournament in Orlando,
Florida, on July 21-22, 2017; and
WHEREAS, three thousand seven hundred sixty-four students from two hundred
seventy-six schools from around the world participated in the bullseye competition, and one
thousand two hundred seventy archers from one hundred forty-five schools participated in
the 3D portion of the tournament; and
WHEREAS, competing in the bullseye, Kingston Elementary School finished first
out of forty teams after scoring an impressive three thousand two hundred ninety-two points,
thereby earning the team its first world championship; and
WHEREAS, in the 3D competition, they placed third in their division; and
WHEREAS, in the bullseye, Kingston Elementary School had several standouts with
Weston Wray placing second out of five hundred five males with a score of two hundred
ninety-one, and in the 3D competition, Thomas Allen placing second out of one hundred
sixty-three elementary boys with a score of two hundred eighty-eight; and
WHEREAS, Cassidy Walters claimed second place out of one hundred sixty
elementary girls with a score of two hundred eighty-four; and
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the Kingston Elementary School
archery team could not have been achieved without the guidance and skills of the coaches
and all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the archery program;
and
WHEREAS, the distinguished team performance of the entire Kingston Elementary
School archery team has earned them the 2017 National Archery in the Schools Program
World Tournament championship.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate the Kingston Elementary School archery team on its
much-deserved title and third place finish in the 3D competition which were earned through
teamwork, determination, and dedication to the sport of archery.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Kingston Elementary School.
