2018 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 10 BY SENATOR BOUDREAUX A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Cecile Landry Daigle. WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the citizens of Louisiana learned of the death of Cecile Landry Daigle on March 15, 2017, at the age of ninety; and WHEREAS, Cecile Landry Daigle, born on January 16, 1927, to Drozin and Amelia Guilbeau Landry in Broussard, Louisiana, was a lifelong resident of Lafayette and enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends in Cankton; and WHEREAS, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her loved ones; and WHEREAS, prior to the death of her husband, Bennett, on August 8, 2005, Mr. and Mrs. Daigle shared numerous hobbies and precious moments together; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Daigle is survived by her two daughters, Sue Daigle Brooks and Faye Daigle Duhon; two grandchildren, Angie Johnson and Garret Brooks; five great-grandchildren, Ethan Brooks, Brayden Brooks, Eva Brooks, Aiden Landry, and Elyse Johnson; one sister, Lucille Landry Sonnier; and several nieces and nephews; and WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Bennett J. Daigle; her parents, Drozin and Amelia Guilbeau Landry; and four brothers, Phil Landry, Alton Landry, Clarence Landry, and Lenis Landry; and WHEREAS, she was a woman who was admired by all whose lives she touched and will be greatly missed; and WHEREAS, the death of Cecile Landry Daigle has left a substantial void in the Lafayette community and a sense of loss in those lives she touched, and her memory shall live forever in the minds and hearts of all those who knew and loved this remarkable southern lady. Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 10 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Cecile Landry Daigle, and extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor that she brought to the Lafayette community and the state of Louisiana.
