SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 5

A RESOLUTION
To commend Ted Davidson, head coach of the Acadiana High School Wreckin' Rams, on
his retirement.
WHEREAS, Ted Davidson has been one of Louisiana's top high school football
coaches over the past fifteen years; and
WHEREAS, an assistant coach from 1981-2003, he took over the head coaching
position in 2004; and
WHEREAS, he spent fourteen years as the head coach of the Acadiana High School
Wreckin' Rams and compiled a record of 154-46; and
WHEREAS, Coach Davidson led the Wreckin' Rams to four Class 5A titles and two
runner-up finishes as head coach; and
WHEREAS, in the fall of 2017, the Wreckin' Rams advanced to the Class 5A
semifinals; and
WHEREAS, Coach Davidson retires after spending forty-two years in coaching,
winning Class 5A titles in 2006, 2010, 2013, and 2014; and in 2005 and 2007 as the Class
5A runner-up; and
WHEREAS, after completing the 2017-2018 school year, Coach Davidson will
pursue his favorite hobby, dog training; and
WHEREAS, Coach Davidson has proven himself to be a leader of the highest caliber,
a catalyst who motivates young athletes to work together, to exceed personal expectations,
to attempt seemingly unattainable goals, and to perform as a team made of many cohesive
parts; and
WHEREAS, Coach Ted Davidson shall remain an endearing figure in Acadiana High
School football, his community, and the state of Louisiana for many years to come.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Ted Davidson, head football coach of the Acadiana High School
Wreckin' Rams, on his impressive career and does hereby congratulate him on his
well-deserved retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Coach Ted Davidson.
