SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 76

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Lucille "Lucy" H. McDonald on 42 years of service with
the Louisiana Department of Education.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Lucille "Lucy" H. McDonald on forty-two years of service with the Louisiana
3 Department of Education.
4 WHEREAS, Lucille "Lucy" H. McDonald began her career with the Louisiana
5 Department of Education in 1975; and
6 WHEREAS, she was hired immediately on her first interview by the deputy
7 superintendent of management and finance, George Benton, as his executive secretary; and
8 WHEREAS, due to her expertise and outstanding performance, Lucy has held that
9 position for the past forty-two years, working with many administrations and deputy
10 superintendents of finance; and
11 WHEREAS, Lucy is well known for her intellect and unquestionable work ethic; and
12 WHEREAS, giving her work her full attention, she has remained steadfast and
13 dedicated to always ensuring tasks are performed timely and accurately; and
14 WHEREAS, during her tenure, Lucy has been loyal and dedicated, willing to go the
15 extra mile and share her knowledge and expertise with others; and
16 WHEREAS, she conducts herself in the most cordial, concise, and compassionate
17 manner possible and presents a kind demeanor in every situation; and
18 WHEREAS, at the age of eighty-five, Lucy decided to retire and spend time with her

1 six sons and their families; and
2 WHEREAS, Lucille "Lucy" H. McDonald will always remain an inspiration to her
3 fellow citizens for the vital contributions she has made throughout her forty-two years of
4 effective public service with the Louisiana Department of Education.
5 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
6 does hereby commend Lucille "Lucy" H. McDonald upon her forty-two years of
7 extraordinary public service and congratulate her on the occasion of her retirement from the
8 Louisiana Department of Education.
9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
10 Lucille "Lucy" H. McDonald.
