SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 96

A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate the individual nominees for the Unsung Hero Award by
CADAV, Inc.
WHEREAS, on Sunday, April 15, 2018, the individual nominees for the Unsung
Hero Award will be honored at the CADAV's Unsung Hero Banquet; and
WHEREAS, the persons being honored include Tammy T. Dugas for community
outreach, Leatha Kay for community outreach and education and development, Simone O.
Higginbotham for community outreach and development, Sgt. Riley Harbor for community
outreach training and development, Teko Foxx for community engagement, Gracie Perkins
for community engagement and development, Dr. L.C. Thomas for community outreach and
engagement, Jackie T. Wright for community and institution engagement, Bishop Lee Dell
Maxie for community outreach abroad, and Wisdom Adikema; and
WHEREAS, CADAV (Community Against Drugs and Violence) is a 501(c)3,
community based, nonprofit organization in the Banks subdivision in Baton Rouge
comprised of concerned citizens whose goal is to develop a sense of pride, dignity, and
awareness in the community; and
WHEREAS, CADAV's mission is to combat drugs, street violence, and social blight,
thereby creating a safer environment for children to grow, prosper, and become productive,
self-sufficient citizens.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate the individual nominees for the Unsung Hero Award
by the Community Against Drugs and Violence.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Tammy T. Dugas, Leatha Kay, Simone O. Higginbotham, Sgt. Riley Harbor, Teko Foxx,
Gracie Perkins, Dr. L.C. Thomas, Jackie T. Wright, Bishop Lee Dell Maxie, and
Wisdom Adikema.
