HUNTING/DEER:  Requires the use of a safety harness in an open deer stand when hunting
or taking deer
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 56:116.3(H), relative to deer hunting; to require the use of a safety harness in
3 an open deer stand when hunting or taking deer; and to provide for related matters.
4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 56:116.3(H) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 ยง116.3.  Special provisions applicable to deer and bear; times and methods of taking;
7	penalties

9	H.  No person shall hunt or take deer from an open hunting stand without
10 being fastened into a safety harness.  The provisions of this Subsection shall apply
11 to hunting stands whether manufactured or homemade that are open, with or without
12 railings, and that are raised from the ground either by means of integrated legs or
13 suspended from a tree.
