HOUSE BILL NO. 350
BY REPRESENTATIVE CARPENTER
1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:408.1(A)(3), relative to surety bond requirements for third-
3 party test providers; to provide for an increase in the surety bond requirement for
4 third parties administering driving skills tests for Class "A", "B", or "C" driver's
5 licenses; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 32:408.1(A)(3) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
8 ยง408.1.  Third-party testing; proof of testing
9	A.  The Department of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety services,
10 may contract with or license another state, an employer, a private driver training
11 facility, driver education course provider, or other private institution, or a
12 department, agency, or instrumentality of a local government to administer the skills
13 tests as specified herein if all of the following conditions are met:

15	(3)  The third party has a contract or license with the department to
16 administer skills tests for Class "A", "B", or "C" driver's licenses which, at minimum,

1 complies with 49 CFR 383.75.  In addition, the third-party tester must initiate and
2 maintain a surety bond in the amount of ten forty thousand dollars.
