Present law requires that a fee of $100 be assessed upon contractor license renewals and provides an option for a contractor to choose not to remit the fee. Present law provides that the fee shall be dedicated to a Louisiana public university or community college school of construction management or construction technology that is accredited by either the American Council for Construction Education or the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Proposed law retains present law. Proposed law removes the provision in present law that would allow a contractor to opt-out of paying the fee.
