WILDLIFE & FISHERIES SEC:  Allows the secretary of the Department of Wildlife and
Fisheries to designate a proxy to serve in his stead on the Louisiana Forestry
Commission
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 3:4272(A), relative to the secretary of the Department of
3 Wildlife and Fisheries; allows the secretary to designate a proxy to serve in his stead
4 on the Louisiana Forestry Commission; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 3:4272(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง4272.  Members; appointment; qualifications; terms of office
8	A.  The commission shall consist of seven members, five of whom shall be
9 appointed by the governor, subject to confirmation by the Senate, and two of whom
10 shall serve ex officio--namely, the head of the department of forestry at Louisiana
11 State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College and the secretary of the
12 Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.  The secretary of the Department of Wildlife
13 and Fisheries is hereby authorized to designate a person from his department to serve
14 in his stead on the commission.

Abstract:  Allows the secretary of the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries to designate a
member of his staff to serve in his stead on the La. Forestry Commission.
Present law establishes the La. Forestry Commission composed of seven members, five
appointed by the governor and two serving ex officio.  The two ex officio members are the
head of the LSU department of forestry and the secretary of the Dept. of Wildlife and
Fisheries.
Proposed law authorizes the secretary of the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries to designate a
person from his staff to serve on the commission in his stead.
