A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable Robert E. Billiot and to express enduring gratitude for his
outstanding contributions to Jefferson Parish, and the state of Louisiana, particularly
during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
Representatives.
WHEREAS, Robert E. Billiot is a notable public servant who has served with
excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has
fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 83 and the state in an
honorable and dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of West Jefferson High School, Representative Billiot
received a bachelor of arts degree from Nicholls State University; and
WHEREAS, Representative Billiot has been a proud member of the Democratic
Caucus and Jefferson Parish Delegation; and
WHEREAS, Representative Billiot's diligent committee service has included serving
as the vice-chairman of the House Committee on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs,
and he has served as a member of the House Committee on Appropriations, the House
Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Infrastructure and Resources, the House

Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Corrections, the House
Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, the House Committee on Retirement,
the House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, the Joint Legislative
Committee on the Budget, the Select Committee on Disaster Recovery, and the Select
Committee on Hurricane Recovery; and
WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative Billiot
has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
WHEREAS, Robert E. Billiot will forever have a special place in the chronicles of
the history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
of his life, Representative Billiot merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of the
Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Robert E. Billiot; does hereby
extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, particularly
during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been
marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in
Jefferson Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to him
for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy
to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Billiot for his service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Honorable Robert E. Billiot.
