HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 108

A RESOLUTION
To commend Brian Drury, fire chief for the town of Springfield, for more than twenty years
of service.
WHEREAS, Brian Drury joined Fire Protection District 2 in Springfield in 1994,
became assistant chief within two years, and was promoted to fire chief in 1999; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership, Fire Protection District 2 has achieved a Property
Insurance Association of Louisiana rating of Class 4, an improvement of two levels above
the Class 6 rating the district previously held; Class 1 represents exemplary fire protection;
and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Drury supervises one hundred ten square miles and four
stations and diligently executes his duty to protect citizens in his district; his help was vital
after the flood of 2016, and he has ably assisted residents in other disasters that have affected
his community.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Fire Chief Brian Drury for more than twenty
years of dedicated and highly productive service to the town of Springfield.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Fire
Chief Brian Drury.
