A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable A B Franklin and to express enduring gratitude for his
outstanding contributions to Calcasieu Parish and the state of Louisiana, particularly
during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
Representatives.
WHEREAS, A B Franklin is a notable public servant who has served with excellence
as a state representative since taking office in 2008, during which time he has fully used
every opportunity to serve the citizens of District No. 34 and the state in an honorable and
dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, Representative Franklin is a graduate of the former W. O. Boston High
School; and
WHEREAS, Representative Franklin has been a proud member of the Acadiana
Delegation, Black Caucus, Democratic Caucus, and Rural Caucus, for which he served on
the executive committee; and
WHEREAS, Representative Franklin's diligent committee service has included
serving as a member of the House Committee on Health and Welfare, the House Committee

on Insurance, the House Committee on Judiciary, and the House Committee on
Transportation, Highways and Public Works; and
WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative
Franklin has authored and supported many important pieces of legislation; and
WHEREAS, A B Franklin will forever have a special place in the chronicles of the
history of Louisiana, for he is one of Louisiana's most outstanding public servants; and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
of his life, Representative Franklin merits a sincere measure of commendation for his
singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of
the Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable A B Franklin; does hereby
extend honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, particularly
during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been
marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in
Calcasieu Parish and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and does hereby pay tribute to
him for the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his
energy to the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana House of Representatives hereby
expresses enduring gratitude to Representative Franklin for his service to the citizens of
Louisiana, as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished
body, and does hereby extend to him the best wishes of all his colleagues for continued
prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the Honorable A B Franklin.
