HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 191

A RESOLUTION
To commend Rapides Parish upon its declaration by the Governor's Council on Physical
Fitness and Sports as the Most Physically Fit Parish in the state.
WHEREAS, in all, twenty-two parishes competed in the 2019 Elementary State
Championship Fitness Meet; Rapides Parish won a record-breaking fourth consecutive
championship; and
WHEREAS, student participants from the parish excelled in events such as the
shuttle run, pull-ups, and sit-ups to clinch the victory away from Lafayette Parish, which
finished second, and Caddo Parish, which placed third; and
WHEREAS, two standout team members were Aubree Davis and Jacob Dean,
crowned Miss Fitness and Mr. Fitness, respectively, for their high scores in the elementary
girls and boys events; and
WHEREAS, the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports has declared
Rapides Parish as the Most Physically Fit Parish in Louisiana, and participants in the
competition held this spring deserve to be commended for being physically fit and leading
healthy lives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Rapides Parish upon its declaration by the
Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports as the Most Physically Fit Parish in the
state; does hereby commend Aubree Davis and Jacob Dean for their fitness achievements;
and does hereby urge Louisiana citizens to engage in fitness and sports and make health a
priority.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
school board of Rapides Parish.
