ENROLLED 2019 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 247 BY REPRESENTATIVE BRASS A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the homegoing of Bailee Lanae Becnel. WHEREAS, Bailee Lanae Becnel was born to Jarrod and Anitra Jack Becnel on July 27, 2006, in Metairie, Louisiana; she passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the tender age of twelve; and WHEREAS, christened at an early age, Bailee was baptized at Evergreen Baptist Church; Bailee was a bright student; she matriculated at Life Daniel Academy, Gramercy Magnet, and Lutcher High School; and WHEREAS, she got involved with dance at the age of two; she was a member of Yvonne's Direction in Dance, where she was in the dance company for nine years; she loved being on stage with her fellow dancers and traveling to compete; Bailee also enjoyed swimming, drawing, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends, especially Demi and Blaire, who were more like sisters than cousins to Bailee; and WHEREAS, she went by many nicknames: Bee, BeeBee, Boss Bee, Bee-delicious, and Bailee Bee; Bailee was one of a kind; a young lady of grace, spirituality, and passion who will be remembered fondly in her community; and WHEREAS, Bailee is survived by her mother, Anitra Jack Becnel; sister, A'Lynn Becnel; grandparents, Jude "PawPaw" Jack, Shelia "MawMaw" Jack, and Sally "Mamee" Becnel; aunts, Julie "T-Noonie" Jack, Aisha Becnel, Janell Becnel, and Tanecia Becnel; uncle, Albert "Uncle Mugs" Lumar; cousins, Demi Simoneaux, Blaire Simoneaux, Edwin Florent, Emohni Florent, A'Shia Murray, Jon'Tre Becnel, Jonell Becnel, Ma'Kiyha Becnel, Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 247 ENROLLED Tyriq Becnel, and Bentley Sylvester; godparents, Dominique and Carlysle Jasmine, Michelle Landry, and Stephan Jarrow; and a host of other family and friends; and WHEREAS, the homegoing of Bailee Becnel has left an unspeakable emptiness in the hearts of her family members and friends; Bailee's life was a gift and she will continue to be mourned and sorely missed by those who had the honor of knowing her as a vibrant young lady. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express condolences on the homegoing of Bailee Lanae Becnel; does hereby express the deep regret of the entire state upon the loss of this extraordinary child; and does hereby recognize the pride that she will forever bring to her family, her friends, her community, and the state of Louisiana.
