HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 25
BY REPRESENTATIVE FOIL
A RESOLUTION
To commend Storm 22 and Seven Seas for their efforts to help veterans and first responders.
WHEREAS, Storm 22 is a Louisiana based organization that was founded by
disabled veterans who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder and that wishes to bring
more attention to the number of veterans committing suicide and to assist in preventing more
loss; and
WHEREAS, statistically, approximately twenty-two veterans kill themselves every
day; and
WHEREAS, Seven Seas is a family owned scuba diving company in Baton Rouge
providing a full service store catering to divers and snorkelers; and
WHEREAS, Storm 22 and Seven Seas have formed a partnership to provide
constructive outlets to veterans and first responders by providing a caring and close-knit
community, teaching new skills that create positive experiences, and giving these selfless
individuals the opportunity to experience the beauty of underwater adventures; and
WHEREAS, together these organizations provide an incredible opportunity for men
and women to begin a new and exciting journey into a world of physical activity and
emotional support; together they hope to make a difference.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Storm 22 and Seven Seas for their valiant
efforts in aiding our veterans and first responders; do hereby offer our support for their
efforts to raise awareness of suicide; and do hereby extend best wishes to the organizations
in their teamwork and compassion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Sean Prados and Nancy Cohagen.
