HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 59

A RESOLUTION
To commend Paula Stewart on her retirement after more than thirty-nine years of state
service as the Bienville Parish registrar of voters.
WHEREAS, Paula Stewart began her career as Bienville Parish registrar of voters
on June 30, 1980; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that a sincere measure of appreciation be expressed to
her for her many years of committed service and dedication and for her remarkable
contributions to the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, her attention to detail and understanding of the law, implementation of
changes of voting machine equipment, and development of procedures concerning elections
have been invaluable to the agency; and
WHEREAS, her professionalism, accountability, and dependability have been
evident through the years to both colleagues and citizens of Bienville Parish and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Stewart's caring demeanor and infectious smile, along with her
unparalleled knowledge of the job, will be greatly missed; and
WHEREAS, as she prepares to begin the next exciting and productive chapter of her
life, Stewart merits a sincere measure of commendation for the exemplary strides she has
taken as an exceptional civil servant.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Paula Stewart for her incredible
contributions to her state through her service as the Bienville Parish registrar of voters, does
hereby express its gratitude for her many years of service, and does hereby wish her much
happiness and success in her future endeavors.
