HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 65

A RESOLUTION
To commend Mary Coombs on her induction into the Pro-Am Hall of Fame for ballroom
dancing.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Mary Coombs of Loranger, Louisiana, on
her induction into the Pro-Am Hall of Fame for ballroom dancing; and
WHEREAS, Mary won first place for all seven of her theatrically produced show
dances at the Millennium Dancesport competition in New Orleans in June 2018; and
WHEREAS, Mary has been dancing since she was two years old and has been
dancing at the Louisiana Ballroom in Hammond for five years; and
WHEREAS, her wins were recognized by notable dance professionals such as Mary
Murphy, Mark Balls, and Sam Sodano; and
WHEREAS, success at the highest levels of competition requires tremendous
dedication and countless hours of hard work, and Mary Coombs's induction into the Hall of
Fame signifies her unwavering commitment to the art and the craft of ballroom dancing.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Mary Coombs on her
induction into the Pro-Am Hall of Fame for ballroom dancing and does hereby extend best
wishes for success in future competition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Mary Coombs.
