HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 86

A RESOLUTION
To commend Reverend Andrew D. Martin, Sr., for forty years of faithful service as pastor
of Grand Lake Faith Temple on the occasion of his retirement.
WHEREAS, on his retirement as pastor, it is appropriate to commend and celebrate
Reverend Andrew D. Martin, Sr., for his remarkable term of devotion to God and the
congregation of Grand Lake Faith Temple and to extend to him sincere and heartfelt
appreciation; and
WHEREAS, it pleased God to send Reverend Martin to Grand Lake Faith Temple
in 1979, where he faithfully and dutifully carried out the responsibilities assigned to him as
shepherd of the Grand Lake flock for forty years; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Martin began guiding a congregation of fifty members, which
has now blossomed into two-hundred followers of the gospel; and
WHEREAS, he has served his community in a wide variety of capacities, speaking
to Grand Lake High School graduates, visiting nursing homes, performing wedding
ceremonies, and laying the dearly departed to rest; and
WHEREAS, he has led over fifty mission trips to Mexico, building churches and
providing food, clothes, and toys to families; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Martin is widely respected and admired throughout his
community and has touched the lives of countless people with his singular gifts and talents.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Reverend Andrew D. Martin, Sr., on the
occasion of his retirement after forty years of service as pastor of Grand Lake Faith Temple
and does hereby extend to him best wishes as he embarks upon the next stage of his spiritual
life.
