1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 24:513(D)(4)(b), relative to audits; to provide for the duties of
3 the legislative auditor; to provide for review and reports on cost recovery budget
4 request forms completed by certain budget units; to provide for an effective date; and
5 to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 24:513(D)(4)(b) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
8 ยง513. Powers and duties of legislative auditor; audit reports as public records;
9	assistance and opinions of attorney general; frequency of audits;

12	D.  In addition, the legislative auditor shall perform the following duties and
13 functions:

15	(4)(a) *          *          *
16	(b) The legislative auditor shall conduct a performance audit on each
17 statutory dedication that includes a fee for service review the cost recovery budget
18 request forms completed for each budget unit in the executive branch of state
19 government as provided in R.S. 39:32 at least once every four years to determine
20 if the fees are adequate to cover the costs associated with the service. The legislative
21 auditor shall report his findings to the Joint Legislative Committee on the
22 Budget.

1 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
2 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
3 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
4 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
5 effective on the day following such approval.
