(8/1/19) 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 40:2166.2, relative to the licensing of adult residential care 3 providers; to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of adults receiving residential 4 care; to provide for the safe operation of residential care facilities; to provide 5 technical changes; and to provide for related matters. 6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 40:2166.2 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 8 ยง2166.2. Purpose 9 The purpose of this Part is to authorize the Louisiana Department of Health 10 to prescribe, promulgate, and publish rules and regulations to provide for the health, 11 safety, and welfare of adults receiving residential care and to provide for the safe 12 operation of facilities providing such care. It is the intent of the legislature to support 13 the rights of individuals to live in a safe residential setting which ensures freedom 14 of choice, independence, and an opportunity to continue to live as an integral 15 members of the community, aging with dignity, privacy, and respect.
