SENATE BILL NO. 96
BY SENATOR BISHOP AND REPRESENTATIVE BOUIE 
1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 33:2740.70(D)(1), relative to the Gentilly Development District
3 in Orleans Parish; to provide for membership to the board of commissioners; and to
4 provide for related matters.
5	Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 33:2740.70(D)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as
8 follows:
9 ยง2740.70. The Gentilly Development District; creation, composition, and powers;
10	levy of ad valorem taxes and issuance of bonds

12	D. The district shall be governed by a six-member seven-member board of
13 commissioners, referred to in this Section as the "board". The board shall be
14 composed as follows:
15	(1)(a) The state representative who represents House District No. 97, or his
16 designee.
17	(b) The state representative who represents House District No. 99, or his
18 designee.
19	(c) The state senator who represents Senate District No. 3, or his designee.
20	(d) The state senator who represents Senate District No. 4, or his
21 designee.
22	(d)(e) The mayor of the city of New Orleans, or his designee.
23	(e)(f) The city council member whose district encompasses all or a greater
24 portion of the area of the district, or his designee.

1	(f)(g) The assessor for the area included within the district, or his designee.

3 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
4 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
5 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
6 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
7 effective on the day following such approval.
