SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 102

A RESOLUTION
To commend Seth Bode for his numerous accomplishments.
WHEREAS, Seth Bode is a warm and friendly twenty-four-year-old from Jefferson
Parish; with the support of his younger brother Parker, a senior at Rummel High School, and
his parents, Patrick and Bebe, he helps run their family business, Pirogue Praline Company;
he is the self-proclaimed "Praline King" and is the face of the company; and
WHEREAS, Pirogue Praline is not Seth's first employer; Ronnie Mains, the owner
of CRC Global Solutions, in Kenner, hired him, creating a position for him that would cater
to his skills and strengths as an individual who was born on the autism spectrum; and
WHEREAS, autism, which can be present from birth or from early childhood, is a
lifelong developmental disability with no single known cause; and estimated one in
fifty-nine children in the United States are affected by autism; thirty-five percent of young
adults aged nineteen to twenty-three diagnosed with autism are not employed, and are eager
and excited to work but struggle to fit into a hiring and recruitment process that is
fundamentally social; and
WHEREAS, Patrick Bode, Bebe Bode, and Ronnie Mains all saw potential in
Seth Bode and fostered a nurturing environment for him to develop into a thriving and
essential employee; and
WHEREAS, like most parents, Patrick and Bebe Bode wanted a place for their child
to feel included and valued; Pirogue Praline is a space where Seth Bode can experience the
joys of success and self-sufficiency, a goal of Seth's parents' is to hire more persons with
disabilities as the company grows; and
WHEREAS, Seth Bode is deserving of recognition for holding down two jobs, a feat
many people will never attempt, and for seizing the opportunity by pursuing
entrepreneurship through his family business.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Seth Bode for his numerous accomplishments; does hereby recognize
his drive as an entrepreneur and a CRC Global Solutions employee, and does hereby wish
him continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Seth Bode.
