SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 131

COMMENDATIONS. Commends and recognizes Laine Hardy as one of the top three
American Idol finalists.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend and recognize Laine Hardy, a country star who is a one of the top three
3 finalists on the seventeenth season of American Idol, and to extend best wishes on
4 continued success.
5 WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of Livingston, twenty-year-old Laine Hardy has
6 advanced to the top three finalists in the current season of American Idol; it is his second
7 time appearing on the show; and
8 WHEREAS, in his time on the program, Laine has flourished in the spotlight of the
9 national stage, and he has been a wonderful ambassador for the state of Louisiana; and
10 WHEREAS, his interest in music was piqued when he first picked up a guitar at age
11 seven; he took guitar lessons into adolescence, but has never had any formal vocal training;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, fans from all across the United States recognize the talent in this
14 exceptional musician, singer, and songwriter, especially through his original songs, "In the
15 Bayou" and "Louisiana Lady"; and
16 WHEREAS, he is a graduate of French Settlement High School and is supported by
17 his proud parents, Barry and Cindy Hardy; and
18 WHEREAS, artists like Laine serve as an inspiration to others because of their

1 steadfast dedication to honing their craft; and
2 WHEREAS, Laine Hardy and his special talents serve as an example of the
3 incredible homegrown talent of Louisiana and he merits a heartfelt congratulations.
4 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
5 does hereby commend and recognize Laine Hardy, a country star who is one of the top three
6 finalists on the seventeenth season of American Idol, express enduring appreciation for the
7 wonderful way in which his music touches the lives of countless people, and extend to him
8 best wishes for continued success and happiness in his future endeavors.
9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
10 Laine Hardy.
