2019 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 26 BY SENATOR WARD A RESOLUTION To commend Bailey Tinsley for being one of the top fifteen advertising students in the nation. WHEREAS, LSU Manship School of Mass Communication student Bailey Tinsley is one of the top fifteen advertising students in the nation, as selected by the American Advertising Federation; and WHEREAS, Tinsley's selection as one of the top national advertising students will allow him to complete a prestigious internship at Slingshot, as a top advertising company, as part of the Vance and Betty Lee Stickell Internship Program; and WHEREAS, The Vance and Betty Lee Stickell Internship Program was established in 1989, and has recognized two hundred ninety-eight outstanding students with a paid ten-week summer internship in media organizations, advertising agencies, and brands; and WHEREAS, the Manship School is recognized by accreditors as one of the strongest programs in the country; and WHEREAS, the Manship School of Mass Communication's advertising program is the only program in the nation that focuses on digital advertising; and WHEREAS, Tinsley's grade point average in the Manship School's distinguished digital advertising program is higher than any other advertising student at the school; and WHEREAS, Tinsley is the recipient of the Louisiana State University President's Alumni Scholarship for his outstanding academic achievements; and WHEREAS, Tinsley is a student in the esteemed Louisiana State University Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College; and WHEREAS, Tinsley works personally with the Louisiana State University Screen Arts Director, Dr. James V. Catano, to conduct documentary research, and also conceptualizes new sequences and story-lines and direct interviews. Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 26 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Bailey Tinsley for his outstanding academic performance and for his accomplishments at Louisiana State University's Manship School of Mass Communication.
