Proposed Senate rule provides that a former senator may be designated or referred to as "Senator
Retired, District No." followed by the number of the Senatorial District represented. Defines "former
senator" as a former senator who served at least 12 consecutive years in the Senate and, because of
this service, was prohibited by Article III, Section 4(E) of the La. Constitution from being elected
to the Senate.
