HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 50
BY REPRESENTATIVE WHEAT
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Acadian Air Med 6 crew members on a successful rescue and patient
transport mission.
WHEREAS, the Acadian Air Med 6 crew members, based in Hammond, performed
a successful rescue mission at the mouth of the Tangipahoa River on Lake Pontchartrain;
and
WHEREAS, Acadian Air Med 6 pilot, Zachary Gonzales, was forced to land in an
unconventional landing area, and medical crew members Andrea Perea and Catherine
Lansford Wall traveled roughly a half-mile by boat to meet the injured party; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Perea, a flight paramedic, and Ms. Wall, a flight registered nurse,
stabilized the injured party before transporting the individual back to the helicopter and then
to a medical facility in New Orleans; and
WHEREAS, the entire crew of Acadian Air Med 6 is most deserving of recognition
for their heroic, live-saving efforts.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Acadian Air Med 6 crew members on
a successful rescue and patient transport mission; does hereby thank the crew for their
perseverance despite the challenging nature of the rescue; and does hereby extend sincere
hopes and wishes for the continued health, safety, and welfare of all those involved in this
life-saving work.
