2020 First Extraordinary Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 48 BY SENATOR BARROW A RESOLUTION To commend the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge Holy Grill program for over thirty years of service and for providing services through the COVID-19 pandemic. WHEREAS, begun in 1987 by the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge, the Holy Grill program feeds the hungry as well as promotes healthy lifestyles and peace through over twenty congregations that volunteer to serve the food; and WHEREAS, hot lunches are prepared at the Interfaith Federation office and transported to the feeding site at Cadillac St. Park; and WHEREAS, Tonia Causey, Holy Grill coordinator, has been cooking meals at Holy Grill for over thirty-one years and her red beans and rice are famous; and WHEREAS, in response to and during the COVID-19 pandemic, Holy Grill has provided and is providing to-go boxes at the entrance of the Cadillac St. gym; and WHEREAS, the Holy Grill program of the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge is most deserving of recognition for its support of north Baton Rouge during the pandemic. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge Holy Grill program for over thirty years of service and for providing services through the COVID-19 pandemic.
