ENROLLED 2020 Second Extraordinary Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 4 BY REPRESENTATIVES LACOMBE AND BROWN A RESOLUTION To commend Wilson "Hook" Cazes for his service and dedication to the town of Addis. WHEREAS, after twenty-eight years of service on the Addis town council, Councilman Wilson "Hook" Cazes has decided to forgo seeking reelection; Councilman Cazes was first elected to the council in 1993 and has served seven consecutive four-year terms; and WHEREAS, since Councilman Cazes's first term, the population of Addis has tripled; he greatly benefitted from his prior experience as a member of the Addis Planning and Zoning Committee on which he served prior to running for the seat on the town council; and WHEREAS, among his many achievements while serving as a councilman, he is most proud of the improvements he and his fellow officials made to Joe Myhand Park and the construction of the museum area on Main Street, the latter of which earned an award from the Louisiana Municipal Association; and WHEREAS, Councilman Cazes deeply values the importance of keeping the public both interested and involved in matters of local governance; and WHEREAS, the strength of Louisiana and her communities is dependent on dedicated public servants such as Wilson Cazes; his civic engagement has been exemplary and brings great pride to the people of Addis and the entire state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Addis councilman Wilson "Hook" Cazes for his service and dedication to the town of Addis; does hereby thank Councilman Cazes for his efforts to engage citizens in local government and his support for projects aimed at enhancing life in Addis; and does hereby extend sincere hopes and wishes that he continue to enjoy good health and prosperity as he embarks on a new journey.
