SMALL BUSINESS: Urges and requests the Louisiana Bankers Association to provide
small business information compiled by the Department of Economic Development
to citizens who open commercial accounts or seek commercial loans

2To urge and request the Louisiana Bankers Association to provide small business
3 information compiled by the Department of Economic Development to citizens who
4 open commercial accounts or seek commercial loans.
5 WHEREAS, the Department of Economic Development offers an array of
6educational, managerial, and financial programs to assist small business growth and
7expansion; and
8 WHEREAS, many entrepreneurs across the state are unaware of all the opportunities
9and programs offered by the department; and
10 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Bankers Association is the only banking association in
11Louisiana and represents about one hundred and twenty member banks, savings banks, and
12savings and loan associations; and
13 WHEREAS, by providing the banks across Louisiana with information about the
14department's small business programs, the Bankers Association can help connect
15entrepreneurs who are starting or growing their businesses by opening commercial accounts
16or seeking commercial loans with information on the valuable resources offered by the
17department.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Louisiana Bankers Association
3to provide small business information compiled by the Department of Economic
4Development to citizens who open commercial accounts or seek commercial loans.
5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
6to the secretary of the Department of Economic Development and the chief executive officer
7of the Louisiana Bankers Association.
