LYONS, MARCELLE, MCFARLAND, NEWELL, PHELPS, PIERRE, SELDERS,
AND WILLARD
A RESOLUTION
To urge and request the Louisiana Bankers Association to provide small business
information compiled by the Department of Economic Development to citizens who
open commercial accounts or seek commercial loans.
WHEREAS, the Department of Economic Development offers an array of
educational, managerial, and financial programs to assist small business growth and
expansion; and
WHEREAS, many entrepreneurs across the state are unaware of all the opportunities
and programs offered by the department; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Bankers Association is the only banking association in
Louisiana and represents about one hundred and twenty member banks, savings banks, and
savings and loan associations; and
WHEREAS, by providing the banks across Louisiana with information about the
department's small business programs, the Bankers Association can help connect
entrepreneurs who are starting or growing their businesses by opening commercial accounts
or seeking commercial loans with information on the valuable resources offered by the
department.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Louisiana Bankers Association
to provide small business information compiled by the Department of Economic
Development to citizens who open commercial accounts or seek commercial loans.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the secretary of the Department of Economic Development and the chief executive officer
of the Louisiana Bankers Association.
