2020 Second Extraordinary Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 30 BY SENATOR FIELDS A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Dietrich H. Fields. WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and sorrow that the citizens of Louisiana learned that Dietrich H. Fields, at the age of fifty-three, completed her life's journey and was peacefully called to eternal rest with our Lord on October 3, 2020; and WHEREAS, Dietrich was born to the late James and Selina McKnight Howard on June 29, 1967; and WHEREAS, Dietrich was employed with the United States Postal Service in various positions, the last being as a maintenance manager; and WHEREAS, Dietrich was described as a woman with a genuine, sweet, and loving spirit by her family members, friends, and coworkers; and WHEREAS, this beautiful and beloved angel with a contagious smile, who loved people and treated them with respect, was often described by many as a blessing from God; and WHEREAS, her coworkers stated that she offered kind words, deserving corrections, and an ear to listen, always at the proper time; and WHEREAS, Dietrich Fields leaves to cherish her memories her husband of twenty- nine years, Rodderick W. Fields Sr.; daughter, Amber N. Fields; and son, Rodderick W. Fields II; and WHEREAS, Dietrich is also survived by a sister, Pastor Cynthia Howard Anderson (Hardy); brother, James Howard Jr., both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a granddaughter, Josie Fields of Gonzales, Louisiana; a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 30 ENROLLED WHEREAS, despite the fact that her death leaves a substantial sense of loss in the lives she touched, her memory shall forever live in the minds and hearts of those who knew and loved this sweet, gentle soul. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere condolences upon the death of Dietrich H. Fields.
