HOUSE BILL NO. 373
BY REPRESENTATIVE MCKNIGHT
1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 33:9097.11(F)(2) and (4)(b), relative to the Westminster Pine
3 Park Crime Prevention and Neighborhood Improvement District in East Baton
4 Rouge Parish; to provide relative to the parcel fee levied within the district; to
5 authorize an increase in the maximum amount of the fee, subject to voter approval;
6 to provide relative to the expiration of the fee; and to provide for related matters.
7	Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
8	as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
9	Louisiana.
10 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
11 Section 1.  R.S. 33:9097.11(F)(2) and (4)(b) are hereby amended and reenacted to
12 read as follows:
13 ยง9097.11.  Westminster Pine Park Crime Prevention and Neighborhood
14	Improvement District

16	F.  Parcel fee.  The governing authority of East Baton Rouge Parish is hereby
17 authorized to impose and collect a parcel fee within the district subject to and in
18 accordance with the provisions of this Subsection:

20	(2)  The amount of the fee shall be as requested by duly adopted resolution
21 of the governing authority of the district; however, the fee shall not exceed one
22 hundred thirty dollars per parcel per year.

3	(b)  The fee shall expire ten years from its initial levy at the time provided in
4 the proposition authorizing the fee, which shall not be more than ten years after its
5 imposition, but may be renewed as provided in Subparagraph (a) of this Paragraph. 
6 If renewed, the term of the imposition of the fee shall be as provided in the
7 proposition authorizing such renewal, not to exceed ten years.

9 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
10 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
11 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If
12 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
13 effective on the day following such approval.
