ENROLLED ACT No. 291 2020 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 647 BY REPRESENTATIVES SELDERS AND JAMES 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 33:4720.151(C)(1), (F)(1), and (G)(1)(introductory paragraph), 3 relative to the East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority; to provide relative to the 4 name of the authority; to authorize the authority to use a trade name; and to provide 5 for related matters. 6 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published 7 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of 8 Louisiana. 9 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 10 Section 1. R.S. 33:4720.151(C)((1), (F)(1), and (G)(1)(introductory paragraph) are 11 hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 12 ยง4720.151. East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority 13 * * * 14 C.(1) There is hereby created in the parish of East Baton Rouge a body 15 politic and corporate which shall exist in perpetuity and shall be known as the East 16 Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority, referred to in this Chapter as the "authority". 17 The authority is authorized to use the trade name "Build Baton Rouge". 18 * * * 19 F.(1) The East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority authority shall be 20 comprised of all of the territory located within the parish of East Baton Rouge, 21 including the territory comprising the municipalities of Baker, Baton Rouge, Central, Page 1 of 2 CODING: Words in struck through type are deletions from existing law; words underscored are additions. However, the governing authority of each 2 municipality may opt out of being included within the territorial jurisdiction of the authority. 3 * * * 4 G.(1) The East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority authority shall be 5 governed by a board of commissioners, referred to in this Chapter as the "board", 6 consisting of five members appointed as follows: 7 * * * 8 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 9 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 10 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If 11 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become 12 effective on the day following such approval.
