Abstract: Authorizes an automobile expense allowance for the East Feliciana parish
assessor not to exceed 15% of the assessor's salary to be paid from existing funds of
the assessor's office.
Present law authorizes an automobile expense allowance for the assessor in Assumption,
Iberville, Lafayette, Pointe Coupee, and Webster parishes. The allowance is equal to 15%
of the assessor's annual salary and payable out of existing funds of the assessor's office,
provided the assessor maintains $300,000 of automobile insurance per accident for bodily
injury and $100,000 of automobile insurance per accident for property damage. Further
requires the expense allowance to be funded by the assessor's office at no additional expense
to the state or local governing authority.
Proposed law retains present law but adds authorization for the assessor in East Feliciana
parish to be eligible to receive an automobile expense allowance.
(Amends R.S. 47:1925.11)
