1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 22:1931.13 and R.S. 40:1429, relative to the insurance fraud
3 investigation unit within the Department of Public Safety and Corrections; to extend
4 the Sledge Jeansonne Louisiana Insurance Fraud Prevention Act; to extend the
5 termination date of the insurance fraud investigation unit; to provide for an effective
6 date; and to provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 22:1931.13 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
9 §1931.13. Termination of Part
10 This Part shall terminate on July 1, 2020 2024.
11 Section 2. R.S. 40:1429 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
12 §1429. Effectiveness of Subpart
13 This Subpart shall be null, void, and unenforceable on July 1, 2020 2024.
14 Section 3. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2020; if vetoed by the governor
15 and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
16 2020, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.
